Is your child ready to stay home alone, watch younger brothers and sisters while you’re away from the house, or babysit for younger children? Then maybe it’s time for Safe Sitter®. Safe Sitter® is for boys and girls entering grades 6-8 in Fall 2024 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children. Instructor Dawn Smith will teach young teens how to practice important safety skills, how to handle emergencies, and how to treat illnesses and injuries. Students will also learn skills such as choking rescue and CPR. In addition, students learn important business skills, like how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers. Each student will receive his/her own Safe Sitter® Student Handbook! This is an in-person class. Seating is limited to 8 students.

Lunch: This class will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (CST) Students will need to bring a sack lunch and a drink for a 30-minute lunch break.

Testimonial: “I really like the CPR and the parts where we learned what to do in different situations. This was a great course and I learned a lot. It will definitely be helpful in the future.” Nora Willette, student
