Safe Sitter® Essentials with CPR

Is your child ready to stay home alone, watch younger brothers and sisters while you’re away from the house, or babysit for younger children? Then maybe it’s time for Safe Sitter®. Safe Sitter® is for boys and girls in grades 6-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children. Safe Sitter® teaches young teens how to practice important safety skills, how to handle emergencies, and how to treat illnesses and injuries. Students will also learn skills such as choking rescue and CPR. In addition, students learn important business skills, like how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers. Each student will receive his/her own Safe Sitter® Student Handbook!

Note: This class will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be a 30-minute lunch break, so please make sure to bring a sack lunch.

Safe@Home is ideal for students in grades 4-6 that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Safe@Home program teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and will learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Each student will receive his/her own Safe@Home student booklet. Upon completion of the class, a digital certificate of completion will be emailed to the student. This class will be from 6-7:30 p.m. This is an in-person class but can be taken virtually (upon request) for an additional $5 shipping fee for the class booklet. If attending virtually, when registering, select the virtual option. Deadline to register: April 30.
