With only 8 students per session, you’ll receive personalized, one-on-one support throughout the class. 

This free class is perfect for seniors who’ve heard about AI but want a trusted, guided introduction. By the end, you’ll walk away with new digital skills and more confidence using today’s technology. 

Offered in partnership with the Independence County Library and UACCB, this free class is part of a shared commitment to lifelong learning in our community.

The Video Game Summer Camp offers a comprehensive journey into the exciting world of Esports. This program is for students who will enter 3rd Grade through 7th Grade in the Fall 2025. The camp provides a well-rounded experience, exploring the history of video games, fostering essential online safety skills, and encouraging a fundamental understanding of gaming etiquette. Participants will also learn the value of teamwork, sportsmanship and game coding, all within a fun and healthy competitive environment. Where Future Rocket Scientists Launch! 

Blast off into an unforgettable STEM adventure! Space U – Model Rocketry Camp offers two half-days packed with hands-on rocket building, exciting lessons on rocket science, and real rocket launches. Designed for students entering grades 5 through 8, this camp will spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and ignite a passion for space exploration. More than just a summer experience, it’s a step on your child’s pathway to a future career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)! 

This exciting experience is led by NASA Solar System Ambassador Dr. David Thomas, a real rocket scientist and professor at Lyon College in Batesville, who teaches college-level rocketry classes and uses model rockets for atmospheric research. Dr. Thomas is one of only five NASA Ambassadors in Arkansas! 

Space U is proudly co-hosted by UACCB and the Batesville-Independence Rocketry Directive (B.I.R.D.), a local affiliate club of the National Association of Rocketry. Their support helps ensure a top-tier experience for every young rocketeer!  

What Campers Will Do 

  • Build and customize a real model rocket 
  • Learn Newton’s Laws of Motion and Forces of Flight through fun, interactive lessons 
  • Launch their rocket high into the sky during a thrilling, supervised launch event

This summer, a select group of high school students will embark on a three-day, hands-on journey into Precision Agriculture—where technology meets farming to create new opportunities for the next generation. 

This isn’t just a camp—it’s an immersive experience. You’ll work alongside industry experts, get introduced to state-of-the-art equipment, and see firsthand how GPS guidance, aerial mapping, and real-time data are revolutionizing modern farming. From improving efficiency to protecting natural resources, you’ll discover how technology is shaping the farms of tomorrow. 

Class Details:

  • July 14-16
  • 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. each day 
  • UACCB Campus with field trips to Newport and Harrisburg 
  • Cost: FREE – Thanks to funding from the National Science Foundation

Dr. Henry earned his doctorate from the University of Arkansas in Agricultural Food and Life Sciences, specializing in Agricultural Education, Communication, and Technology. His groundbreaking research focused on the training needs of Arkansas agriculture teachers related to Precision Agriculture Systems—a field revolutionizing the way farmers grow crops through data-driven decision-making, GPS-guided equipment, drones, and real-time soil monitoring. 

Driven by a passion for both education and innovation, Dr. Henry is committed to empowering students with the knowledge and tools to succeed in modern agriculture.
