Macros Using Excel teaches advanced Microsoft Office users how to automate tasks through macros. The course covers recording, editing, and creating macros, including using the Developer tab, macro buttons, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) concepts, serving as a prerequisite for more advanced VBA training.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED Training
with Thomas Lemon

This course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory, (e.g. OSHA), foster parenting or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. The course includes first aid basics, medical emergencies, environmental emergencies, preventing illness or injury, adult CPR and AED use, Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies, child CPR AED and infant CPR AED. Note: There is no minimum age requirement for this course, however, the student must be able to do compressions and demonstrate skills properly.

Excel Level 2

Excel Level 2 covers large workbooks with multiple worksheets; 3D formulas; more advanced formulas for financial; logical and date questions; Excel as a datasheet (database table), including sorting and filtering, charts, comments and hyperlinks.

Respond and Revive: Naloxone (Narcan) Training to Combat Opioid Overdose
with Josh Ramsey

Join us for a free, one-hour training session designed to prepare you with the knowledge and skills to reverse an opioid overdose using Naloxone. This essential training is open to everyone in our community. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer Naloxone safely and effectively.
All attendees will receive a free Naloxone kit to take home, ensuring you are prepared to act quickly in an emergency and protect your loved ones and community members. This session is co-hosted by the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Door prizes will also be given out via a drawing.

About the Instructor
Josh Ramsey serves as an Advanced Peer Recovery Support Specialist with the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force. He is the Arkansas Affiliate Director of the National Peer Recovery Alliance (NPRA) and also leads Sharing Hope Through Lived Experience Ministries, Inc., which he co-founded in 2022 with his wife, Ashley. The Ramseys reside in Batesville with their eight-year-old son. Josh’s work extends across Izard, Independence, Cleburne, Stone, and Fulton counties.
Josh’s journey toward recovery began after struggling with substance use disorder for 30 years. After numerous arrests, he entered a faith-based treatment facility in October 2018. On September 18, 2024, he celebrated six years of sobriety, driven by a passion for recovery. Josh collaborates with two investigators as part of an Overdose Response Team (ORT), using his lived experience to support individuals who have overdosed and to guide their families in establishing effective recovery plans.
In addition to his work with the ORT, Josh is actively engaged in his community and church. He leads Celebrate Recovery programs in several jails, conducts Naloxone training, volunteers in feeding and ministering to the homeless, and spearheads community outreach for drug prevention. His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2021 Rising Star Award, 2022 Forensic Peer of the Year Award, and the 2024 Arkansas Peer of the Year Award. In recognition of his efforts, the Josh Ramsey Justice-Involved Peer of the Year Award was named in his honor.

Excel Level 3 covers how to use Excel for a variety of problem-solving tasks. Included are how to use Excel as a database; utilizing conditional formatting, data validation, the Data Table, outlining and subtotaling; Paste Special with calculations; consolidating; programmatic formulas including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, ISERROR and nested IF statements with AND and OR; and Pivot Tables and Scenarios.

The University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville provides fire training for citizens of North Central Arkansas through the White River Fire Fighting Center. Select training courses are certified through the Arkansas Fire Training Academy (AFTA) in Camden, AR.
Prerequisites:
Firefighters must have completed the following prior to this course:
- Chapter 1 - Introduction to Fire Service and Firefighter Safety
- Chapter 5 - Firefighter Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Firefighter I
Lesson Goal:
This course is based on standard NFPA 1002 and is designed to give the student the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to inspect and perform preventative maintenance on a fire apparatus. The student will be capable of performing routine tests, inspections and service functions on the apparatus system and components along with knowledge to Drive/Operate and the use of Water Supply, Sprinklers and Standpipes. Class duration is two weeks long, May 12-23, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. There will be an IFSAC test given on Friday, May 23rd.
Course length: 80 hours

Prior to registering for this course, please obtain approval from your Fire Department Chief or Training Officer. Deadline to register: April 28. Per AFTA requirements, you must be registered two (2) weeks prior to the class, or you will be unable to attend.

RN to EMT Bridge

The RN to EMT bridge course is the fast-track way of allowing health care professionals who wish to advance their careers in EMS by working on a ground or air ambulance and taking their knowledge to where the action and treatment first begins. The health care professionals will be allowed to do online course work over a week and then be trained by other health care providers on EMS equipment before being checked off and testing for their national certification and home state licensure. Note: The hands-on skills check-off can only be done in the state of Arkansas. Download RN to EMT flyer.

The class will consist of an online course review over a period of one month of the EMT course at your pace with an online test at the end of each chapter. Then you will have a hands-on training the following week with other health care professionals in the same field. Ride along time will be provided for those who will need it after class or with prior arrangements.

Enrollment is open now. This is a hybrid course that includes an online component and also an in-person hands-on skills assessment. The online component of the class must be completed prior to the hands-on skills assessment. The hands-on skills assessment is scheduled for May 26th and will be held in Batesville, AR at Survival Flight, Inc.
Pre-requisites: Must be a current licensed healthcare professional with a valid Basic Life Support CPR certification card.
This course is a satellite program of the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Upon registration, you will be given access by the instructor to Pearson's MyLab Brady to begin the online portion of your coursework.

The Video Game Summer Camp offers a comprehensive journey into the exciting world of Esports. This program is for students who will enter 3rd Grade through 7th Grade in the Fall 2025. The camp provides a well-rounded experience, exploring the history of video games, fostering essential online safety skills, and encouraging a fundamental understanding of gaming etiquette. Participants will also learn the value of teamwork, sportsmanship and game coding, all within a fun and healthy competitive environment.
