WHAT TO EXPECT

Future Fit provides the training to obtain the skills needed to be competitive when looking for entry-level employment in the field of manufacturing regardless of your job history. 

Future Fit trainees will be screened for participation in the Working for Independence (WIN) Grant program which provides pre-employment training support and wraparound services designed to reduce employment barriers through a three-stage process. Stage 1 consists of 96 hours of on-campus training, Stage 2 consists of 160 hours of on-the-job training, and Stage 3 consists of full-time employment with an hourly pay up to $2.00 above the standard base hourly pay if employed by a participating business/industry partner.

Qualifying WIN Grant participants will receive the following incentives and services:

  • Up to $150 per week paid stipend during Stage 1 (campus-based training) for participants that successfully complete the course learning requirements.*
  • Up to $50 per week in paid fuel stipend during Stage 1 (campus-based training) for participants that successfully complete the training requirements.*
  • Up to $75 per week paid stipend during Stage 2 (on-the-job training) for up to four weeks of verified work attendance.*
  • Access to supportive services and outpatient treatment for those directly or indirectly affected by substance abuse disorders.

*Successful completion of WIN program criteria required to earn stipends. WIN program funds are provided through a WORC (Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities) 3-DRA Grant funded through U.S. Department of Labor.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Career Readiness Certificate - bronze or better
  • Transportation to/from UACCB

Future Fit is absolutely free! There is no cost to the participant.

CDL - ELDT Online Theory, Range and Road Skills Check-Off

UACCB is offering a fast-track instructor-led course for the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Class A or Class B CDL licensing requirements. 

CLASS DETAILS:

  • Participants will need to purchase a JJ Keller Entry Level Driver Training Obtaining a CDL Student Manual (Product Code 50493). 
  • Participants will be given access to online quizzes in order to complete the ELDT CDL Theory requirements.  
  • Participants will have 30 days to complete the online Theory quizzes. Upon successful completion of the online Theory quizzes (>80%), participants will come to UACCB's campus to complete a 90-minute Range and Public Road skills check-off.

All participants must possess a Commerical Learner's Permit (CLP) prior to attempting the Range and Public Road skills check-off portion of the course. The assumption is that minimal to no hands-on training is needed for the Range and Public Road portion of this course. Participants needing initial or additional training should register for UACCB's 5-week Class A CDL training program at https://www.uaccb.edu/application/step1/ 

Participants who fail any competencies during the Range or Public Road skills check-off exam may reattempt within 5 business days for an additional $150 fee. The Range and Public Road skills assessment will be examined according to ELDT standards (see link below). All hands-on driving will be performed in a UACCB-owned vehicle. Any exceptions must be approved by UACCB's Dean of Workforce Education. All participants will be required to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen prior to completing BTW (Behind the Wheel) driving in a UACCB-owned vehicle. UACCB will cover the cost of the DOT drug screen. An authorization form for the drug screen will be provided for the participant at the proper time.  

Entry-Level Driver Training Minimum Federal Curricula Requirements

Upon registration, a UACCB staff member will contact you to set-up the participant's online training account.     

Cancellations: To cancel a class, five (5) business days' notice prior to the course starting date is required to withdraw and receive a refund. 

Haas Certification Program Hands-On Test

Haas Certification Programs are designed to provide the basic knowledge necessary to get started as a CNC machine operator or CNC machinist. Students learn basic CNC machine operation, proper machine safety and fundamental machining processes.

GETTING STARTED

STEP 1: Complete the FREE online Haas Certification Training by registering on the Haas Automation website.

STEP 2After the online course is completed, you will need to register for a hands-on test by clicking the "Register" button above. UACCB is an authorized training provider and a hands-on test is required to obtain your Certificate(s). A nominal fee of $175.00 is required for this test per campus visit. Upon registration, UACCB Staff will contact you to schedule a date for your hands-on test. 

For more in-depth training, UACCB offers credit-based CNC Mill and Lathe Operator courses, as well as CNC Production Technician courses for those interested in advancing their career in precision manufacturing.
