RN to EMT Bridge

The RN to EMT bridge course is the fast-track way of allowing health care professionals who wish to advance their careers in EMS by working on a ground or air ambulance and taking their knowledge to where the action and treatment first begins. The health care professionals will be allowed to do online course work over a week and then be trained by other health care providers on EMS equipment before being checked off and testing for their national certification and home state licensure. Note: The hands-on skills check-off can only be done in the state of Arkansas. Download RN to EMT flyer.
How you will benefit:
- After completion of the course you will be able to test for your state licensure and national registration at NAEMT
- You will have knowledge of Emergency Medical Equipment
- You will learn to work in a team setting to accomplish a time sensitive goal
- You will learn scene size up and when to contact additional resources or help
- You will have the privilege of becoming a large part and a valued member of the emergency response family
The class will consist of an online course review over a period of one month of the EMT course at your pace with an online test at the end of each chapter. Then you will have a hands-on training the following week with other health care professionals in the same field. Ride along time will be provided for those who will need it after class or with prior arrangements.

$199.00 UACCB (enrollment fee for online college course)
$250.00 Survival Flight EMS (equipment fee usage and hands-on instructor training)
Class size is limited and will be offered on a first come basis so don’t wait!
Enrollment is open now. This is a hybrid course that includes an online component and also an in-person hands-on skills assessment. The online component of the class must be completed prior to the hands-on skills assessment. The hands-on skills assessment is scheduled for May 26th and will be held in Batesville, AR at Survival Flight, Inc.
Pre-requisites: Must be a current licensed healthcare professional with a valid Basic Life Support CPR certification card.
This course is a satellite program of the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Upon registration, you will be given access by the instructor to Pearson's MyLab Brady to begin the online portion of your coursework.
Registration Process:
- Open enrollment for online coursework begins: June 9-July 12
- In-Person Skills Check-Off: July 28

Meet Our Instructor, Clint Howard
Clint Howard is an experienced aviation professional and educator with over two decades of military and civilian aviation expertise. Originally from the Batesville area, Clint enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1998, later commissioning as an officer in 2005. During his distinguished 20-year career, he served as a Reconnaissance Combat Systems Officer, instructor, evaluator, and Air Advisor to the Afghanistan Ministry of Defense. He retired as a Major in 2018 and returned to Batesville.
Clint holds FAA certifications as a Commercial Pilot and a Commercial Drone Operator. He is the owner and operator of Oakwood Aviation, a local aviation business, and is a licensed realtor. Passionate about inspiring the next generation, Clint teaches aviation classes at both Batesville High School and the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB). His teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students recognize and seize opportunities to achieve their highest potential.
Combining real-world experience with a commitment to education, Clint prepares students with the skills and knowledge to pursue careers in aviation, drone technology, and beyond.
Wildland Firefighting
with Regina Gregory

This wildland firefighting course is provided by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture's Forestry Division. This class introduces how fire departments and Forestry Division personnel will work together to stop a fire. Wildland firefighting and structural firefighting are very different situations, yet we share many of the same thought processes when we deal with fires. The instructor for this class is Regina Gregory. Course length: 8 hours.
This class will not qualify you as a wildland firefighter, however, you will learn how the Forestry Division works on fire incidents. Through communication, cooperation, and coordination, our agencies will be able to provide a positive outcome to the incident, the fire is extinguished. We always do this with safety in mind.
In order to receive a certificate for this course, the student must: Attend the entire course, take an end-of-course test, and pass the test. The test will cover the course material.
About the instructor:
Regina Gregory began her career in forestry in May 2005 as a Fire Plow Operator, where she played a crucial role in combating wildland fires. After a decade of dedicated service, Ms. Gregory was promoted to County Ranger in October 2015, assuming a broader range of responsibilities within the forestry department. In July 2021, she took on a new challenge as a Wildland Training Instructor, sharing her knowledge and expertise to train the next generation of forestry professionals.

Hunter Education

Register HERE for Hunter Education for October 4, 2025
This free class sponsored by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is required for anyone born after 1968. To hunt in Arkansas, you must complete a hunter education course and carry a valid hunter education card. Youth under age 16 may hunt without hunter education as long as they are under the direct supervision of an adult who is 21 years of age. There is no specific age requirement to enroll in hunter education but the curriculum is based on a sixth-grade reading level. Registration online at AGFC is required. CDL Hazmat Endorsement

UACCB offers a self-paced online training course to help you prepare for the CDL Hazmat Endorsement exam. Video instruction is provided by Bryan Anderson, CDL instructor.
Hazardous materials are products that pose a risk to health, safety, and property during transportation. Hazardous materials include explosives, various types of gas, solids, flammable and combustible liquid, and other materials. Because of the risks involved and the potential consequences these risks impose, all levels of government regulate the handling of hazardous materials. The course includes the information needed to prepare for the Arkansas Hazardous Materials endorsement test.
This is a self-paced online course. Upon registering, UACCB will grant you access to the class. You will have 30 days from the date of access to complete the training. For questions, call 870-612-2082.
