RN to EMT Bridge

The RN to EMT bridge course is the fast-track way of allowing health care professionals who wish to advance their careers in EMS by working on a ground or air ambulance and taking their knowledge to where the action and treatment first begins. The health care professionals will be allowed to do online course work over a week and then be trained by other health care providers on EMS equipment before being checked off and testing for their national certification and home state licensure. Note: The hands-on skills check-off can only be done in the state of Arkansas. Download RN to EMT flyer

How you will benefit:

  • After completion of the course you will be able to test for your state licensure and national registration at NAEMT
  • You will have knowledge of Emergency Medical Equipment
  • You will learn to work in a team setting to accomplish a time sensitive goal
  • You will learn scene size up and when to contact additional resources or help
  • You will have the privilege of becoming a large part and a valued member of the emergency response family

The class will consist of an online course review over a period of one month of the EMT course at your pace with an online test at the end of each chapter. Then you will have a hands-on training the following week with other health care professionals in the same field. Ride along time will be provided for those who will need it after class or with prior arrangements.

Class fees are as follows:

$199.00 UACCB (enrollment fee for online college course)

$250.00 Survival Flight EMS (equipment fee usage and hands-on instructor training)

Class size is limited and will be offered on a first come basis so don’t wait!

Class dates for enrollment are open now. The deadline to register is August 16, 2024. The hands-on skills assessment is scheduled for August 26-27 and will be held in Batesville, AR at Survival Flight, Inc. 

Pre-requisites: Must be a current licensed healthcare professional with a valid Basic Life Support CPR certification card. 

This course is a satellite program of the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Upon registration, you will be given access by the instructor to Pearson's MyLab Brady to begin the online portion of your coursework.

If so, American Sign Language is perfect for you! This engaging and interactive course is designed specifically for young learners who are eager to embark on a journey into the world of ASL. Through a blend of hands-on activities, visual learning, and fun, interactive exercises, children will dive into the rich culture and history of American Sign Language, laying the foundation for meaningful communication in ASL.

Parental Note:  Kids' College is a summer enrichment program for kids entering grades 1-3 in the Fall of 2024. Children must have completed Kindergarten to be eligible for Kids' College. Help! I'm Teaching High School Science; What Do I Do Now?

Ms. Beverly Meinzer, UACCB Science Faculty, will present an information session and discussion on how to order, store, use and dispose of chemicals in the high school science lab. Participants will be given information on these topics along with information about online resources. Several practical, easy to do experiments that can be done in the high school setting will be performed by the participants. The workshop is free and is designed for secondary science teachers. The event is sponsored by White River Regional Solid Waste Management District. 

The workshop will be held on Tuesday July 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UACCB Arts & Science Building, room 303 and 304. Seating is limited to 20. Lunch will be provided. For questions, call 870-612-2082.
