About Our Instructor:

Scott Phillips joined the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB) in September 2024 as its first Director of Industry and Community Partnerships. In this role, Scott develops and manages a wide range of non-credit workforce training, community education, and youth programs, enhancing the college's community engagement and aligning its educational offerings with local workforce needs.

Prior to moving to Arkansas in early 2024, Scott retired from his role as Policy and Communications Chief at the Idaho Department of Lands, where he led transformative efforts in public outreach, policy development, and legislative advocacy. Over his tenure, he established the agency’s first Policy and Communications unit, expanding transparency and forging vital partnerships across Idaho’s natural resources sector. His earlier career also includes strategic communications and executive roles with the Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction, two Idaho State Controllers, and the Idaho Governor’s Office.

In this new chapter of his career, Scott is thrilled to focus on workforce training and community education, areas that allow him to work closely with local partners to “improve lives”—a mission that resonates deeply with him. His extensive experience in public relations, policy strategy, and community engagement continues to fuel his commitment to fostering opportunity and growth within the UACCB community.
